Program Night 0 Guests
Vice President Paula Warp called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Announcements:
• The SC Art Center staff will hand our upcoming SCCC Round/Circles show.
• The wire on the back of the frame should allow 1.5 inches of clearing from the outside top edge of the frame.
• Leave the prints with the receptionist at the Art Center on Wednesday, 2/25 or Thursday, 2/26.
• Spot the prints on the backside as we do for club competition with the print title, your contact information. Be sure to include a price.
• Thanks to Barbara Ann and Bob G. for all of their work on this event.
• A reception? A Thursday night or a Sunday afternoon would work best. This remains in the air. We need to make a yay or nay decision soon in order to get things lined up.
• If you didn’t complete a survey/questionnaire last meeting, then please fill one out this meeting. The Education Committee has done well with programs and outings but they can’t do it without your input. That’s the purpose of the survey. Tell ‘em what you want.
• The Education Committee offers a one-on-one portfolio review. Mike W. found it quite useful and it led to a very in-depth discussion of photography. It was a great way to spend an evening and provided some insight on prints that might not normally be shown at club. Contact Bob Gillespie if you wish to schedule a review.
• N4C will have a trial panoramic print contest outlined at Springbrook. Prints may be from film or a digital file, cropped or stitched. Size cannot exceed 320 square inches. A foam core mounting is allowed.
• Springbrook information and registration will be available at the 2/26 meeting. Springbrook dates are 4/24 and 4/25.
• N4C will have more digital competitions on the way.
• George Lepp will attend the N4C Convention in Duluth this year.
• We found prints in our storage closet in the church last meeting. Are they yours or do they belong to someone you know? Check at the next meeting and take them home, please.
New Business:
• SCCC’s Year End Banquet will be Tuesday, 5 May. We will gather at 6:00 PM with dinner being served at 6:30 PM. Our date is set due to our speaker for the evening, Matt Miller. Matt is a photographer for the Omaha World-Herald. His Highway 20 Project about life along that highway is/was being shown at our Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
Program:
• Carl Hardy on ISO and Noise.
I left at 8:35 PM before the meeting was officially over. I was up at 4:00 AM this morning to be to work at 5:00 AM. I was dragging.

Results Night 4 Guests
Larry Crabb called the meeting to order at 7:28 PM.
Announcements:
• There’s gonna be a hangin’! Come to the SC Art Center at 2:00 PM on 27 February. We’re installing our Round/Circle show.
• Bring down one print in a black frame no larger than 16 x 20.
• The wire on the back of the fram should allow a 1.5 inch gap from the top of the frame.
• This is the café show for SCCC.
• The Art Center will provide the name plates but you need to provide Barbara Ann (huculab@witcc.edu) with:
• Title:
• Photographer:
• Price:
New Business:
• Bob G. handed out questionnaires for the Education Committee. They’re looking for opinions on how they’ve done so far and what can they do for summer field trips and activities for next season.
• Any interest in pursuing a juried exhibit for the Big Room at the SC Art Center?
• This would be at least one year away.
• We should be able to pick from a list of topics for ONE theme for the show. Could there be an open category? We will look at that possibility.
• We also may be able to negotiate a price for having the Art Center frame the show prints for us.
• We will pursue this further with the Art Center.
Old Business:
• PSA dues are good for another year (2 year membership).
• All other payments have been made.
Forum:
• Question: Is shooting in black-and-white sharper than shooting in color and converting to B&W?
• No one is quite sure.
• Camera manufacturers keep leaving it as an option so there must be some value.
• No one at SCCC has done a comparison.
Adjourn at 9:10 PM.
