March Meetings 8th & 29th @ 7:30 Morningside Reformed Church
Judges: Prints - Steve Peterman
Slides - Gene Held
Program: Tom Atkinson and Paula Warp
Treats: March 8 - Hollanders
March 29 - Bob Gillespie
Dine Out: Dine and socialize with club members before the meetings
this month at Charlies (Holiday Inn on Gordon) 6 PM
From the Editor:
For those of you who receive "Shutterbug" magazine, check the April
2001 issue, page 198, for an article on "Camera Clubs, 'The Good, The Bad
and The Ugly'". Reading through their ideas I think our club stacks up
pretty well. The article mentions things we do that could be improved such
as participation, involving new members, and understanding criticism. It
also suggests some new ideas we might try for developing ways to express
constructive criticism. I'll bring photocopies of the article to the next
meeting for those who are interested. -- Tom Atkinson
Two Camera Club Members Honored:
Congratulations to James Braun and Bob Gillespie. Each had a photo
selected for the 57th Juried Exhibition of the Sioux City Art Center.
This is quite an honor since only 180 works of art were chosen from 966
entries in an 11 state area. Exhibit ends March 25 so plan on visiting the
Art Center to see this colorful and creative show. -- Paula Warp
Congrats also to Bob Gallespie for his show at the Daily Grind. Its up now
through the end of the month, stop by and take a look.
-- Tom
PROGRAM: Painting with light. This is the title Chuck gave me, and
to paraphrase Chuck, you'll have to wait 'till Thursday night to see what
its all about.
